This article is written in response to recent restrictions imposed throughout the state of Victoria. It draws similarities between a community response to the second wave of COVID-19 to a relapse prevention model in psychology. This model looks at times when a lapse has occurred and identifies strategies to reduce the likelihood another lapse occurs in the future.

Furthermore, we can take lessons from this model to help us reduce despondency and stay motivated to fight coronavirus on an individual level.
