Naina is a psychology intern who provides counselling across the lifespan to children, adolescents and adults facing mental health challenges. Naina has a Masters degree in psychology from Bangalore University and worked as a psychologist in India and Sudan before moving to Australia 10 years ago. She studied Clinical Psychology at Deakin University also. Naina is currently working as a psychology intern to update her registration after time out looking after her family. She has a particular interest in working with children and families and brings a wealth of life experience, empathy and enthusiasm to her work. Naina’s approach to therapy is strongly informed by CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) but she also brings a wide range of therapeutic approaches to her work including brief psychodynamic therapy and play therapy for children. She is able to see clients presenting with anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, chronic fatigue and children presenting with behavioural problems, social skills training or emotion regulation difficulties.
Naina has provisional registration as a psychologist which means her clients are not yet able to claim private health or Medicare rebates.
Naina is able to see selected children who are participants of the NDIS.
Naina works full time Mondays to Fridays predominantly from our 42 Villamanta Street practice. Selected appointments will also be held at our second building at 28 Villamanta Street.
