Arisja Oberholzer

Arisja has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and offers therapy for such issues as depression, anxiety, panic, phobia, grief, trauma and dissociation, personality issues, bullying and obsessive compulsive disorder.

Arisja’s core clinical approach is drawn from person-centred psychodynamic therapy but she uses skills from a wide range of other psychological approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, neuropsychotherapy and positive psychology. She uses an evidence-based approach that focuses on clarifying core difficulties and identifying positive ways forward. Arisja works with individuals, couples and also provides family therapy. She is also able to provide therapy in Afrikaans.

Arisja works with all age groups and sees children from the age of three. She has an extensive background in play therapy for children. She is experienced with addressing the full range of school-related problems including school refusal. Arisja screens children for learning difficulties as part of her clinical assessment and is able to provide cognitive testing if required. She works with children with attentional issues and challenges associated with the autism spectrum.
Arisja is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and is a member of the College of Clinical Psychologists. She is an Affiliate member of the American Psychological Association. She is also a registered provider for Medicare and Private Health Insurers.


Arisja works full time, working alternate weeks of Monday – Friday and Tuesday – Saturday from our building at 42 Villamanta Street.
