Dr Cathy Faulkner
B.Sci.(Hons)., D.Clin.Psych. MAPS
Cathy is a clinical psychologist with doctoral level training offering therapy for such issues as depression, anxiety, panic, phobia, adjustment to major life changes, personality disorders, trauma, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She has a particular interest in helping people manage low self-esteem. Cathy uses an evidence-based approach, and has conducted doctoral research and published on evidence-based practice and progress in clinical psychology.
Cathy's approach focusses on clarifying the core difficulties and identifying positive routes forward. Strategies may include cognitive-behavioral therapy, recognising and enhancing strengths, and shifting deeply entrenched ways of thinking. Therapy is usually aimed at seeing clear changes in feelings and behaviour.
Cathy currently works part-time on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. She offers "early bird" sessions at 8.00 which may suit those with full-time work committments.
