Group Programs
We are offering an extended group program with two dedicated group rooms and numerous experienced group therapists. Groups will typically involve 6 to 8 participants. Once sufficient participants are ready to join a particular group, session times and dates are determined with the aim of maximising convenience to participants.
Our group services can be accessed privately or when clients are eligible through a range of government-funded schemes including WorkCover and TAC. When private clients are referred to us directly by their doctor with a Mental Health Care Plan they would likely be eligible for Medicare rebates for group attendance. Rebates from Private Health Funds may alternatively apply. Session times may be varied according to client need.
All of our groups are conducted within a cognitive-behavioural therapy framework and are evaluated using objective measures

Taking a Step Forward Group
The TAKING A STEP FORWARD GROUP (now in its 7th year) is designed to assist those who have previously sought individual therapy for difficulties related to social anxiety and avoidant patterns of behaviour, but who may benefit from a group experience. Such difficulties, which relate to concerns about disapproval by others, might be more directly addressed in a group therapy than individual therapy format. This is the first group to be offered in Geelong specifically for such difficulties.
